Why does my Toshiba Satellite U305 notebook beep randomly?
I bought my laptop last October (runs Vista Home Premium) and love it. Now and then, it will beep randomly, just one, for one second. Sometimes days or weeks go by without hearing it. Is this a normal system beep? Could it be overheating? Today, for example, it is quite warm here and I've had the computer on A/C power for a long time.
Is it anything that needs to be checked out right away, or is it something that just happens?
This is one of those mysterious situations that could be nothing... or it could be something serious. First thing I'd do is run a diagnostic scan of your computer's hardware and software. If nothing shows up, it's probably nothing to worry about.
