My Vista Laptop's cordless keyboard's charachters are messed up! What do I do?
I bought a cordless mouse and keyboard for my Vista laptop, and they both worked for a while. my mouse is still working, but the keyboard is messed. Whenever I press u I get a v and ? is caps lock etc. I tried changing the batteries and restarting the computer, but its not working. The integrated keyboard on my laptop is still working fine, just not the cordless. HELP!!!!!!!!
Make sure you don't have any special character buttons locked. You may need to reinstall the driver for the keyboard. If you just plugged it in out of the box and started using it without installing the driver from the disc that came with the keyboard then your system may be using the incorrect driver. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the keyboard. When the "found new hardware" wizard comes up, use the disc that came with it as the source for the driver.
