i have films on my laptop which i want to watch through my larger tv. i have a SVGA cable but it wont work?
By won't work, I assume that it is connected as normal, but you can't get any display on the TV. First, is the VGA or PC input selected on the TV? Second, have you enabled the VGA port output on your laptop? On my Vista system, you just have to right click on the desktop and it enables the second output. For other versions of Windows, you'd have to select desktop properties, display settings. Click on the second monitor and click 'Enable', or 'Extend my desktop...'.
Other operating systems will have similar menus.
