My laptop battery charger doesn't seem to be working...what could be wrong?
My laptop charger is really hard to work lately. After I plug it in to the wall and to the computer, I have to twist it around so that it will work, and tape it in place. Then if it moves at all, it will stop charging. It's getting annoying, but I am not sure what is wrong...is it the laptop or the battery charger? Should I take it to the computer guy or just buy a new charger? Thanks for any advice.

Jasslc - No, it isn't under warranty....it's probably five or six years old. It's an HP Pavilion ze5200, and it's an HP charger.
It depends on where the spot in your cord is, that the problem lies. If it is on either side of the adapter (charger), you can just go buy a new adapter. If the short is where your adapter (charger) plugs into the computer it may be a lot bigger problem. The connection where you plug your adapter into may be loose or broken. If thats the case, you can count on spending about $185.00 to have someone fix it. Its' not an easy job as this connector is soldered to the motherboard and the whole laptop will have to be disassembled.
