Getting a New Home Printer All-In-One?
I have two desktops, two laptops, and three printers. I have a Canon iP90 notebook printer for the laptops, a HP DeskJet 5440 for on desktop and a HP OfficeJet 7310 for the other desktop. I am shelling out a ton of money in ink and I really don't think I print that much. The combo cartridge for the 7310 is $66.00 and for the 5440 its $35.00. Its seems like I'm always buying ink. I am looking into getting a Kodak ESP9 All-In-One wireless printer and getting rid of all my other printers and just using that one for everything. Apparently the ink combo cartridges are only $23.00 and the printer itself is $300 which I don't think is all that bad. All of the 4 computers are Bluetooth capable so if I get the Bluetooth adapter that costs and extra $50 I can use that one printer wirelessly for everything right? What are you thoughts about this and about Kodak printers in general?
Thanks, I always like to do my homework before I make a multi-hundred dollar purchase.
Do you mind if I make a suggestion?
It would be cheaper, in the long run, to buy a printer that has several separate ink cartridges as when one runs out you'd only need to change that particular colour.
My present printer, an Epson Stylus Photo R300, uses 6 separate ink cartridges ... black, cyan, light cyan, magenta, light magenta, and yellow.
I'm not sure that the R300 is still being sold, and I understand that you were looking towards purchasing a multi-function device, so I've put the link to Epson's multi-function devices below. (This is the US site.)
If you look around the site, you'll be able to see the prices of their ink cartridges, though I've been using compatible ones for my printer with no problems for at least 2.5 years now.
I'm not sure whether Epson actually make a wireless printer, but you should be able to find out that information on the website.
