(More info) Why can't IPHONE 3GS & laptops connect to home Wi-Fi?
Hello,
I know this question has been asked a couple of times by someone else, but I'm going to provide more detail.
My iPhone, TOSHIBA laptop and Lenovo notebook used to work perfectly with my home WiFi.
My brother changed some stuff (for his stupid combat arms) then he changed it back (supposedly -- he's to into his game to respond).
Now it suddenly stopped working.
I tried going to the admin gateway thing and changed it to from WPA (and WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK) to WEP (64 bits and 128 bits), but it does not work.
I even tried removing the password. No such luck.
I tried renaming them because some people said it worked -- apparently not for me.
My router's an Optus NetGear, by the way.

Make sure your laptops are using the same type of encryption. Just because you changed it on the access point, doesn't mean the laptop changes automatically. You will need to manually change it yourself with the password you provided. Stay away from WEP, it has become insecure. You will want to use WPA or WPA2 (I would recommend the later). It sounds like he just changed something simple.
